We are an evangelical, charismatic, group of Christians based on the east side of Maidstone, who are affiliated to the Assemblies of God UK, the Evangelical Alliance, Synergy Alliance and we enjoy relationship with a number of churches in the town.

Our roots go back to the late 1980s, when we were one of a number of local churches planted out around Maidstone by Manna Christian Fellowship, then based at Brewer Street in the town centre. At first called East Maidstone Christian Fellowship, our church met in Weavering Village Hall from 1989 until 1994, when we transferred to Madginford Primary School.

In 2002 we renamed ourselves Bearsted Community Church, to reflect the area where most of us then lived, and where our work was focussed. A few years later we acquired charitable status in our own right, becoming a fully independent church. Growing attendances and the need for more space led us to move our main meeting place to Valley Park School in September 2014.

By then we had also acquired church office premises in Cavendish Way, Bearsted. Our church is led by a team of Elders, who also act as Trustees. At the beginning of 2015 David Thompson retired from the position of church leader, the role he had held for 20 years, and Leon Mileham took his place. Over recent years the church's vision for its role has extended beyond Bearsted, and, in reflection of that, its name has been changed to CONNECT Church Maidstone, with effect from January 2016.

Our aim and purpose is demonstrated by our name: in seeking to follow Jesus' example in bringing God's truth and light, love and compassion, to all the people who live in the communities around east Maidstone which we seek to serve. We believe that we can only achieve this by being obedient to God's Word, the Bible, and through the inspiration and revelation of the Holy Spirit.
